NECLS was inaugurated on 13th October 1971 by founder members Wilf Colls, Jim Wood, Morley Ford, Mike Redican, Gerry Walden, Brian Harvey and David Morris.

We welcome non-members, students, & new members from all over the UK to our biannual conferences. Membership is currently set at £25 per year and gives a significant saving on delegate conference fees in well excess of the annual membership fee paid.

Our committee of approximately 15 people meet 4 times per year for a short 1 hour meeting followed by dinner. We warmly welcome new committee members. Some committee members also choose to take on roles for the society such as secretary, or chair.
